Web Accessibility Policy
Our objective is to design a site that provides access to those with normal vision and those with vision impairments. If we should add any audio components, we shall attempt to provide a text substitute for the audio. If you have any questions or suggestion regarding the site design just contact us.
Navigation Aids
This site does not use access keys as a navigation aid. There are just too many conflicts with browser access keys and screen reader access keys to make access keys a viable site navigation aid.
This site does use links to skip to content, a portion of the content, or to the top of the content area. The site also uses breadcrumbs to aid in navigation. The breadcrumb should always point to the current page.
Font Sizes
The three icons in the header provide a means of increasing, resetting, and reducing the font size. It does use JavaScript, which stores the selected font size in a cookie. The selected font size applies to all pages, and will be the selected font size when you return to the site.
Color Scheme
Color vision impairment range from those individuals who have one of the seven forms (including monochrome) colorblindnes to those who have some form of color weakness. The site allows you to select a color scheme that is both visually pleasing and easy to read. To aid in the improvement of the color schemes, we ask you to take the color survey, so that we can use the results to improve the site.
The following table indicates the ability to view a page after applying the filters at the Colorblind Web Page Filters site. This site uses various filters to simulate a particular form of colorblindness. Only a person with that form of colorblindness can judge the true readability of the page. Moreover, only they can decide which one is more visually appealing.
